SUMMER REVIEW: LINQ’s High Roller observation wheel!

Chillest Gamer LLC is a Las Vegas Company and calls Nevada, USA home. A large component of the Chillest Gamer LLC operations include content making on the Las Vegas strip and attending gamer relevant conventions on and off the strip. Las Vegas is the city that is always awake. The blinding lights will keep you up and you'll lose track of time because there it too much to see and do both paid for and free activities from all levels and interests.

No surprise Las Vegas has plenty of visually stunning attractions. Big, small, and curious but today we are exploring the LINQ’s High Roller observation wheel! You cannot miss it; the High Roller is part of the iconic Las Vegas strip skyline. Located east of Caesars Palace/the strip and at the end of LINQ promenade (a $550 million open area, dining/ entertainment district), The High Roller is the largest observation wheel in the western hemisphere towering at 550 feet tall. Seriously, it currently holds the Guinness World Record for Largest observation wheel. It is like a Huge Ferris Wheel with 28 giants see through pods, with air-conditioning (some with a basic full bar!) that fit up to 40 people per pod. Don’t worry you get to pick which pod you board depending on which ticket or package you get. The Pods have plenty of room with some benches and the ride is typically smooth which helps calm minor fear of heights. At 30 minutes a revolution there is no surprise the busiest times for the High Roller are from 10pm to about midnight due to peak traffic.

The high Roller’s entrances can be accessed from multiple locations including the rear porte-cochère (Porch like structure entrance). You can also reach the High Roller through
The Las Vegas Monorail which passes the High Roller and stops at both the Flamingo and the LINQ. If you want to avoid the crowds go during off peak hours for faster drink service during 1pm to about 5pm. Get soft drinks for free during the “happy” half hour but make sure to tip/pay for those hard drinks. Tickets are sold for specific times and dates which you can buy online or in person. Prices start at $18 per adult and $9 per child (no age/height/weight restrictions). Children age 6 and below ride for free. Pricing varies and changes depending on date and time. There’s a drink area before the ride boarding area so you can load up on those hard drinks whether you ride a dry or pod with a bar.

Boarding the High Roller, guests will pass through multiple areas with interactive stations like ticket stations, a pre-ride picture taken by staff and offered for purchase after the ride, bathrooms and Pre-ride lounge/bar. The same building has an outdoor patio with hospitality areas that can be reserved for catered events for up to 500 people. Make sure you go to the bathroom before boarding. Once you are on, you will enjoy 360 degrees of panoramic views of the strip, the Las Vegas valley and mountains day/ night also with video and music playing in the pod. The best spot is the southwest corner or the immediate right when you enter the pod, the best views are at the top in this spot. Be nice though there might up to 39 others that might want some pics too. Once you descend to the bottom, you’ll walk through the opposite side you entered to exit. The High Roller is an ADA friendly attraction that can stop momentarily to allow for wheelchair access. Do not miss out whether you visit the High Roller every time you come to Vegas or have not yet, Get “High?” on the LINQ’s High Roller.

Main hours of operation: Monday through Sunday: 11:30AM to 2:00AM.
